Assembly/Production Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the DC Manager you will have the opportunity to develop and implement Assembly and Production processes that will increase the customer satisfaction, reduce overall costs, and enable growth.

You will complete orders that are shipped and delivered in a timely manner as you have to be analytical, well-organized and excel in communication. You must be comfortable with paperwork and information systems and have great knowledge of assembly and production processes. The goal is to ensure that the Assembly and production processes are always running smoothly and effectively.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Manage the daily scheduling resource planning and performance of an assembly department
    • Develop a daily schedule to meet a on time production and delivery schedule
    • Manage all resources including materials, supplies and manpower
    • Work with all stakeholders to respond to prioritization
  • Liaise with the procurement team to ensure inventory levels are on-hand and collaborate with warehouse, purchasing, sales and other managers to optimize processes to ensure Production deadlines are met
  • Manage all aspects of the assembly area including planning and scheduling of manpower, materials, supplies, & resources and tooling.
  • Proactively and continuously improve processes in the department. Monitor workload and capacity, adjusting work schedules as needed. Analyze and understand future department needs including personnel and equipment; make recommendations to minimize cost.
  • Supervise and lead subordinates to track team performance.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards to ensure a high level of visibility of performance for all stake holders

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in an assembly facility
  • 2-3 years prior supervisory experience
  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on style are a must
  • A proven ability to working in a fast paced rapidly changing environment, must be agile, adaptable and project the highest level of integrity
  • Must be highly motived and inspire others and the team to do the same
  • Excellent communication, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, specifically Navision
  • College diploma in a related field or a combination of work experience
  • Electrical assembly knowledge experience considered an asset

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical Effort:                  Majority of the time is spent walking, standing, and bending/picking up packages.

Physical Environment:   Located in a comfortable indoor area.  Any unpleasant conditions are infrequent and/or very mild.

Sensory Attention:          There is a frequent need to give close attention to various stimuli such as written materials, and information given verbally by co-workers and/or vendors.

Mental Stress:                   Must continuously deal with deadlines, frequent interruptions, and last-minute requests.
